Case analyses

What was said, and what was left out

Out of Context documents statements taken out of context and false equivalences. Each case traces the complete original passage, shows the structural shift that produced the misleading impression, and explains why the resulting interpretation does not hold.

Our premise

A quote cannot be judged without the words around it.

Every disputed claim is traced back to its complete original passage. The excerpt is where the analysis begins, never where it ends, and the evidence decides what the record supports.

How each case is built

Three steps, every time

Each analysis follows the same sequence so readers can check our work at every stage.

Step one

Source the original record

We locate the full statement, speech, or comparison and its surrounding passage, noting where each excerpt was drawn from.

Step two

Map the distortion

We isolate the precise structural shift, such as a removed qualifier, a cropped sentence, or an unmatched pairing, that changed the meaning.

Step three

Assess the interpretation

We test the resulting claim against the evidence and state plainly what the record establishes and what it leaves unresolved.
